Here’s my take after reading the 9 of the manliest hardcore chapters of Back Street Girls by Jasmine Gyuh.

How would I start with this to not make it sound gross and creepy…

Back street girls is a story about 3 yakuza men who were forced to undergo gender reassignment surgery to become the new and upcoming idols in Japan.

Yeah, it’s a premise that might turn you off in giving the story a shot, but let me tell you that once you get past that stage, it is a great and entertaining manga to read.

Watching Ryu, Kazu, and Big Brother struggle to be the perfect idols with the yakuza’s principles and ideas is one heck of a ride! I laughed a lot while reading through their antics and struggles as individuals and as a team.

The approach with the art is great it is clean and fluid while the characters are easy to distinguish from each other.

All in all, if you want quirky fun manga to read. I would recommend this to you.

With that said, I would give Back Street Girls 9 sticky handshakes out of 10.
