I thought I was alone
swinging away on a mundane night
sky devoid of light
suddenly your eyes shone bright
We talked and talked and talked more…
Time had lost its hold on us.
You stared into my eyes,
Time came back just to have itself stop.
The first time your fingers locked with mine,
copper wires intertwine.
It is such an intimate experience,
jolts passing in and out: electric brilliance.
Intoxicated with bliss,
everything is amiss.
You started running,
I’m pulled behind.
The night’s cold breeze,
brushing away my midnight sweat.
Your smile and giggles,
brushing away my somber.
How I wish this would not end.
Like the view of the horizon,
like the passing of time,
like how my heart beats to your rhyme.
